YOUNG WOMEN’S PJ PARTY
The PJ Party was a great
time! Victoria Morris, Carlene Jean and
Linda Goss stayed the night with the girls; and that was a challenge. Kara Rollins, who lead the girls in music, and
Sara Friend, who kept the girls nice and quiet for devotions, stayed the night
with us as well. We had seven lovely
young women who seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves. We actually got to sleep
around 3:00am. Barb Ritson came over
bright and early in the morning and cooked a hearty breakfast for us. We had chocolate chip pancakes, fruit salad,
and sausages—yummy! Of course, Carlene,
Linda and Victoria had to have lots of coffee in the morning.
SOUPER BOWL XLVI!
The Giants won New Hope’s Souper
Bowl. We had a total of 159 cans. The
Giants got 75, the Patriots got 53 and 31 people were undecided! New Hope has done it again—we predicted who
would win the Super Bowl.
QUESTIONS
GOD ASKS US
Instead of always looking for
answers in the Bible, author Trevor Hudson suggests that we start thinking more
carefully about the questions that God asks us. Over the next several
weeks New Hope will follow that suggestion with a sermon series,
"Questions God Asks Us." God desires a relationship with us
and shows this desire by asking us important questions. By allowing
us to wrestle with these questions rather than simply supplying answers, God
draws us close. This Sunday, February
12, the sermon title will be "What Is Your Name?"
PASTOR’S BIBLE STUDY
In Pastor’s Bible Study, we are
now studying the book of James, which illustrates the way in which Christians
should live. Feel free to come and join
us any Monday night in the Grace Life Center at 6:30pm. We always have a good time in Bible
Study.
